The honor of a slave - What is it, who is it for, and how does a slave show honor.

Honor:
1. Honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions: a man of honor.
2. A source of credit or distinction: to be an honor to one's family.
3. High respect, as for worth, merits, or rank: to be held in honor.
4. Such respect manifested: a memorial in honor of the dead.
5. High public esteem; fame; glory: He has earned his position of honor.

The honor of a slave can be defined exactly as you read above. It can be how the slave handles a situation, doesn’t hide anything from their owner, or just displays how respectful she is in a situation where she really should just throw her hands up and scream. Truth is, it can be many things.

Personally I feel the honor of a slave is best shown in her heart. The way she takes in her guidance and punishment from her owner. How she displays herself in public when her owner is not around, is all from the love she holds for them in her slave heart.
Now everyone can say the honor of the slave is for her owner. Since her owner owns all of her. Alright so in a sense this is true. The honor of the slave is for the owner of that slave, but truly it is for the girl herself. Each graceful movement the girl does for her owner belongs to the girl. She may not own material things, but deep down she owns her movements, her demeanor, her attitude, and she herself owns the choice to do things.
If she wants to be disrespectful in front of her owner, or anyone else it is her choice. She owns this choice, and it will be an outcome of what is to come for her.  If she is graceful, elegant, beautiful, and obedient than she is more prized, loved and this shows her honor, let alone how well she is trained, and how precious she truly is.
What I find the most honorable about a slave, is when she is put into a situation with her owner, especially a bad situation. Most Goreans state that a slave has NO say whatsoever. They truly fail to remember who gives them the right to own them. That power so freely given can be taken away when it’s abused.
I think the most honor a girl displays is when she stands up on her own two feet, and says, with grace and love and beauty that she will not be treated like a door mat. That she will not be abused. Especially if she is saying this to her owner. There is nothing more honorable in a slave, then the honor she has for herself, in showing she will stand up for her beliefs.

So Master commented on the assignment he gave me...Here it is (9-3-2011) and I am going to post it below....enjoy...

Master’s Comment: “ A gorean slave has no honor of their own.  Their entire honor is through their Master.  The only way a gorean slave can have honor is in the honoring of their Master.  In everything, you should honor your master.  You were right in what you said, but wrong in how you said it.
